Privacy Policy

Status note (remove before publishing): this is a working draft written from the app's actual data flows as documented in this repo (`CLAUDE.md`, `plan/google-play-guidelines.md`, `plan/appstore-guidelines.md`). It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Given this app collects sensitive personal data (birth date, time, and precise location) and is aimed partly at an Indian/NRI audience, get real legal review before this is linked from a store listing or relied on for Play Data Safety / Apple App Privacy submissions — those are separate, binding disclosures this text should match, not the other way around.

What we collect

Birth details — date, time, and place of birth, used to compute your Vedic birth chart.
Chat messages — the questions you ask and the responses you receive.
Account identifier — a phone number, via Firebase Authentication (OTP sign-in).
Basic technical data — crash/error reports and performance traces, collected automatically when the app errors or to help us debug issues.

How we use it

Your birth details compute your chart. Your chart and questions are sent to our AI provider to generate a conversational response, grounded in your chart and in classical Vedic reference texts. We don't use your data to train models for other products, and we don't sell it.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum needed with the following processors to run the app:

Provider	Purpose
Anthropic (Claude)	Generates chat responses from your chart, question, and retrieved reference text.
Voyage AI	Generates embeddings used to retrieve relevant reference text for your question.
Supabase	Hosts our database (birth profiles, chat history) and vector search.
Firebase (Google)	Phone-number sign-in (OTP verification).
Sentry	Error tracking, so we can find and fix bugs.

We don't share your data with advertisers, and we don't sell it to data brokers or anyone else.

Data deletion

You can request access to, or deletion of, your data at any time by emailing support@vyomaastro.com from the account's registered phone number or email. We'll confirm once it's done. (An in-app deletion flow is planned; until it ships, email is the way to request this.)

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects how your data is used, we'll update this page and, where required, notify you in-app.
